My Mission

As a queer, trans, genderful non-conformist, finding the right therapist was hard. For a long time I struggled to find the right therapists to support me in my recovery from chronic anxiety and depression. The mental health establishment failed me. I felt more empowered by activist communities, especially disability rights, feminist, anti-capitalist, radical queer, sex positive, and mental health peer/consumer movements. Along the way, I’ve learned many tools for recovery from depression, anxiety, and trauma. Now I strive to be the therapist that I was looking for. I want to use my creativity, experience, and knowledge, to support you in your work as an artist, helper, or social justice warrior.

Peer Perspective

My specialty is supporting creative and sensitive people who cope with feeling like an outsider in a capitalist, heteronormative society, especially in rural areas where therapists with subculture experience can be harder to find. You may appreciate my non-judgmental approach to taboo topics and honesty about my own related experiences. Though we have different identities and experiences, what we have in common is a experience of oppression that leads to depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and symptoms of complex trauma. You can use therapy to learn ways to find self acceptance, attune to your emotions, and cope with things both past and present that you cannot change. You deserve to feel better so that you can live a life with connection, purpose, and meaning.

More Than Talk

My style is collaborative and affirming. I’m excited about supporting you as you experience change in how you connect with yourself and others. Both your body and mind will be engaged as you learn about how your nervous system is impacted by difficult experiences and how to work with it to respond in new ways. We will use creative expression, mindfulness, and movement to include the parts of you that don't use words.
